The Jets’ jaw-dropping trade deadline leaves behind a brutal truth

On Tuesday, the Jets did not just demolish their season but most of what qualified as their core, too

On Nov. 5, ahead of Week 10 of the season, here are the two most important dates for the Jets in the next six months:

• Dec. 21, when they visit New Orleans for what is shaping up to be an all-time matchup of tanks;

• April 23, Day 1 of the draft.

Because on Tuesday, the Jets did not just demolish their season but most of what qualified as their core, too. Amid another lost campaign — this will be a 10th straight year with a losing record, a collective 47-109 since 2016 and only going to get worse — the Jets have yet again started over.
